You need to understand what you are going to use it for, how much you are going to be carrying it around, if you are going to use it for imagine, work, play, school, etc. all of these elements will help you decide what kind of notebook that you will need for your specific needs. Laptops come in all shapes and sizes and your needs will help you determine whether you needs something small, or if bigger is okay.
It will also help you determine if you need a super fast computer or if something less expensive, but slower will work. Once you have determined what kind of notebook you need, then it is time to start look for the right one.
If you are on the look out for high quality laptops, you want to start with the experts. You have a couple of options for finding the answers that you need. Your local computer or electronics store will have people on staff that can help answer all of your questions.
There are positive and negatives to using in store staff. The positives are that you are physically looking at the laptop that you are considering and can ask off the cuff questions as they come up in conversation. Often the employee will answer questions that you never even thought of, and you can share all of your needs for the notebook with them and they can point you in the right direction easily.
There is a negative, however, and it can end up costing you a lot of money. You see, that employee you are talking to is a salesperson and their job is to sell you a computer. They may push you in the wrong direction because it will end up making them more in commission. If you decide to visit a store, you need to be clear up front that you are only asking questions today and that you will need time to consider your decision about your laptop.
Using the Internet is a great way to find out about laptops; however, the downside is that you may not know everything that you need to ask and therefore not gather all of the information that you need. The upside is, you can read professional and non-professional reviews about any laptop that you are considering, and many sites have a "ask a question" option that can garner you some answers.
The bottom line is, however, likely the best way to find a good quality laptop that will not break the bank is to use both in-store and Internet resources. Do your research and then make your purchase.
