The Republican Tea Party Has Scary Plans For The USA

by: Ralph Morris on Thu, 9 Sep 2010 at: 12:35 PM    Go to: Previous Article Next Article

It's frightening to me that polling shows the GOP possibly winning majorities in the House & Senate midterm elections. I just don't understand how people could be so forgetful. Don't they remember the mess that George W. Bush left us with in January of 2009?

And it is not only that the Republican President Bush left us a huge mess, it is that the Republicans have made a political decision to stand in the way of everything Barack Obama and the Democrats in the House and Senate have tried to do to clean up that mess.

The Republican Party have put their own political fortunes in front of the needs of the United States over and over again since Obama took office. They've constantly obstructed all positive movement while spreading lie after lie about the positive things that President Obama is doing to improve this country. And now people are thinking about rewarding them for it? It is unbelievable!

If will folks turn off the noise of Fox News and start taking a close look at what the Republican agenda for the future of our country really is?

I would love to say that it is just a return to the policies of Bush since that would be awful enough. But it is actually far worse than that. By the standards of the far right wing Republican Party of 2010, George W. Bush is a "liberal."

Their agenda for next year if they hope to control both the Senate and the House include the following:

1. Privatize Social Security. They want the fat cats on Wall Street to have access to your Social Security money.

2. Dismantle Medicare. Their proposed cuts to Medicare would gut this extremely popular health care program.

3. Extend the Bush tax cuts for the very rich that had a big hand in the destruction of the US economy and greatly increased the deficit.

4. Repeal the Constitution's 17th amendment. For some insane reason they think that citizens should not have the right to vote for their own Senators, instead party politicians should get to choose them.

5. Start ridiculous "investigations" into the Obama administration. I am not even joking, they have already said that they plan on doing this as soon as they get the majority. And this after the Democrats never did any investigations of the real crimes committed by the Bush admin?

It is because of this frightening agenda that I strongly support every single Democratic nominee running for congress in 2010. Whether it be Rick Boucher in Virginia's 9th District or any other Democrat running against the Republican Tea Party. It's not that the Democrats are perfect; they're not. It's that the GOP of 2010 is dangerous to the future prospects of America. We're in too precarious a spot to allow these people get any sort of real power.
